About Marcia Brown

I am an artist & qualified Arts Tutor QTLS (Mifl). I started my formal art education at Jacob Kramer Art College in Leeds. Then went onto complete my Master’s Degree (MA) at Leeds Metropolitan University. During my studies, I won the Edna Lumb Travel Scholarship to research Roots Reggae Music in Jamaica.

My artwork is very varied; I enjoy using an array of media ,(particularly oils) and different subject matters to inspire my creativity. I like to think that the act of creating art is very much as important as the end product. And the artist should be free to express this at all time and not to be bound by subject matter or outside constraints such as culture or religion.I have art work in both public and private collections. I currently have pieces of my work on display In the Africa Gallery at the Leeds City Museum.
